1983
Russell kicks off his upholstery career as an apprentice at Hanham Upholstery, aged 16.
Three years later he goes on to work for Brass Tacks on Denby Street, St Pauls,– where he’ll make office furniture for Rolls Royce and serve many bars and clubs across Bristol.
1988
Entering the world of self-employment in a workshop in Easton, Russell provides commercial upholstery for mostly pubs and social clubs in the Bristol area.
2001
Russell Strange Upholstery becomes a limited business.
2011
Russell and his team move to Avondale Workshops, where they stay for 10 years.
2015
Russell and his team move across the way to Avondale Works – the home of Russell Strange Upholstery Ltd today.
2021
Celebrating 20 years as a limited business, Russell Strange Upholstery is now a well-known, reputable commercial upholstery business in the South West – providing seating for offices, bars, clubs and more.
